The EUDI Wallet Gateway:
Your gateway to digital identity

The EUDI Wallet Gateway is much more than technical middleware: it is the key component that enables companies to participate securely, easily and sustainably in the European EUDI ecosystem.

Your strategic partner for eIDAS 2.0 and the EUDI wallet

As part of our consulting services, we first conduct a comprehensive analysis of your status quo – technically, organisationally and in terms of regulations. Based on this, we evaluate your existing integrations in the areas of identification, authentication and electronic signatures.

We then develop a tailor-made roadmap for connecting to the EUDI wallet. We also provide internal training and targeted change management to help you embed the changes in your organisation for the long term.

The challenge with eIDAS 2.0 & the acceptance of EUDI wallets

The implementation of the new eIDAS 2.0 Regulation and the mandatory acceptance of EUDI wallets from 2027 onwards pose complex questions for companies:

What do I need to do to accept EUDI wallets, and what are the benefits for me?

You need to connect your systems technically, design a smooth user journey and adapt business processes such as onboarding, identification and contract conclusion. This enables you to meet regulatory requirements at an early stage, digitise your processes sustainably, tap into new services and strengthen the trust of your users and partners.

Are EUDI wallets an enabler for new digital services for my company?

Yes, on two levels. In terms of content: Many digital services will only work with EUDI wallets in the future. Strategically: Wallets act as digitalisation boosters: they promote end-to-end digital processes, enable new business models and strengthen your position as an innovative, future-proof company.

Improve your own credentials in the EUDI wallet your business processes and user experience?

By allowing customers to provide proof directly via their wallet, you reduce the effort involved in complex networking between different systems and create a seamless, trustworthy interaction. This enables faster, more secure processes and offers the opportunity to actively market proof via the wallet.

Will an EUDI SDK give my apps new independence and improve the user experience?

An EUDI SDK in your apps gives you independence: by keeping the user journey directly in your own corporate design and development cycle (CI/CD), you avoid jumps to external wallets or third-party user interfaces. This enables seamless, consistent interaction.

Important questions & answers

A relying party (e.g. bank, public authority) officially registers, requests specific verified data from the wallet via standardised protocols, and uses this data in a legally compliant manner for digital onboarding, 2-FA or contract processes.

A credential issuer (e.g. bank, public authority, university) digitises relevant evidence (e.g. contract information, account details, licences) and places it in the user’s EUDI wallet in cryptographically signed and eIDAS-compliant form as EAAs or QEAAs. These can then be used by third parties at the user’s discretion.

The issuer generates and delivers trustworthy digital identity credentials. The relying party uses these credentials to perform identity checks or provide services.

Yes, you can act as both an Issuer (issuer of digital credentials) and a Relying Party (trusted party) in the EUDI Wallet ecosystem. Many organisations take on both roles:

  • Issuer: Issues digital credentials, e.g. a company that creates employment credentials for its employees.
  • Relying party: Uses these credentials, e.g. a bank that uses proof of employment to grant loans.
